Any device that shares its data with Apple Health will integrate with SleepSpace. This means we can sync with Oura Ring, Whoop, Apple Watch, Biostrap, Withings, Eight Mattress, Garmin, Beddit, and many more. You can find out more about the types of data you can get from these devices here: https://sleepspace.com/using-wearables/. We provide the most accurate and nuanced sleep health data when integrating with the Apple Watch, including our proprietary sleep staging algorithm. Other devices like Biostrap provide a better measure of your pulse oxygenation.
Android integrates with all the devices that the iPhone integrates with, but with the addition of the FitBit. See a full description.
Our intention is only to charge you after you have gotten enough time to use the app. There are currently two options to subscribe to SleepSpace and we offer a 7-day free trial with both options:
1) A monthly subscription for $4.99
2) A yearly subscription for $39.99 ($3.33 / month).
Cancel any time before the 7-day trial ends and you will not be charged for your subscription.
Yes we work on iPads, but since iPads do not connect with the Apple Watch we cannot detect sleep stages using iPads. iPads are also not specially designed to fit into our SleepSpace Smart Bed. So use your phone for best effect.
Unfortunately, here at SleepSpace we do not have access to subscription or billing details to cancel or refund these purchases because Apple and Google control the billing if you purchased through the App Store or the Google Play Store. The Apple App store and Google Play store have separate protocols for billing and payment information. We kindly ask that you go through either Google or Apple customer care departments for more information as your account status and to arrange a refund either by telephone or their website:

Google: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637?hl=en
If you have the deep sleep stimulation set to on, then we detect when you are in a sleep stage and subtly increase the volume of our smart sound mask in order to make sleep deeper and block disruptive noise pollution at night.
SleepSpace is a sleep ecosystem that uses our patented technology backed by the National Institute of Health to measure your sleep. Integrating with your entire bedroom ecosystem, we use the science of light, sound and vibration to improve your sleep every night. Through using the micro-motion and cardiometabolic data from wearables and your cell phone, we collect data on your REM, deep sleep, awakenings, bedtime, sleep latency, pulse ox, HRV, sound in room, and more. We then use this real-time data to help you optimize your sleep through actionable suggestions that will help you improve your sleep.
You can redeem a 1-year free trial with a code here: https://app.sleepspace.com/promo
1) Make sure your device is connected to your Apple Health Kit
2) Make sure your wifi is turned on at the end of your sleep journey. While you can use the app on airplane mode, you need to turn back on the WIFI in order for the data to aggregate.
3) Try to turn off your sleep journey from your IPhone instead of your Apple Watch.
You can only see this data if you are using a wearable. Please use one of the wearables that we have listed to get your REM and sleep stage data.
Search your email for one from Dr.Dan.Gartenberg@sleepspace.com. The email will be titled, “The SleepSpace Smart Bed Platform Ships This Week! Get your 1-Year FREE Trial Promo Code.” Make sure you check in the spam folder.
There is a restore purchase button that you may sometimes need to press if you are a registered subscriber, but SleepSpace detects you are not. Here are two video demos of where to find the RESTORE PURCHASE button.
If you are one of the first users of the SleepSpace Smart Bed that can accurately measure your sleep without touching you, you may be thinking, how does the Smart Bed respond when there are more than one person in bed or an animal sleep partner. Firstly, the device is more accurate the closer it is to your side of the bed, so by purchasing two smart beds, one for yourself and one for your partner, there will be increased sleep detection accuracy. While the device may periodically pick up on your partner or pet’s movements, this is still a good indication of your sleep environment, and therefore your sleep quality at night.
The SleepSpace Smart Bed can be less accurate if you sleep with your pet. Often times, the pet moves around at night, which tells the phone sensor that you are awake when you are actually asleep. For better accuracy, we recommend using a wearable like an Apple Watch, an Oura Ring, or a Whoop. We understand that it is important to some people to sleep with your pet, however; it is best practice to have your pet NOT sleep in bed with you. If you choose to sleep with your pet, the Smart Bed can still give you a sense of your overall sleep environment. Your sleep environment can have a major impact on the quality of your sleep.
We built SleepSpace to work with or without internet connection so you can disconnect from addictive technology when you should be sleeping at night and reduce exposure to EMF.
For Apple users, to get best results, turn on airplane mode after you start a sleep session. In the morning you will need to turn your Internet back on to see your full sleep analysis.
For Android users, simply turn the device offline and start your sleep session.
SleepSpace is highly accurate on the Apple Watch and can provide you with information about sleep stages, including micro-awakenings, heart rate, HRV, pulse oxygenation, and customized AI feedback. You will tell that the Apple Watch is collecting high resolution data on your sleep because SleepSpace will turn the green PPG sensor on throughout the night, so when you lift up the watch you will see a green light when SleepSpace is running its proprietary algorithm.
For best results, make sure you grant Apple Health access to analyze your pulse oxygenation data by navigating to the Apple Health app on your phone and finding it when you click the <browse> tab in that app. Also make sure you have granted SleepSpace access to write and read your Apple Health data. To check your Apple Health connection go to the Today screen → tap the settings icon in the upper right → Click <Settings> → Scroll down to <Authorize Apple Health>
We recommend placing your phone somewhere in your room, such as your nightstand. SleepSpace can pick up on micromotions and vibrations indicative of your sleep quality when it is placed on your nightstand. We do not recommend sleeping with the phone in bed as this can lead to unhealthy usage of technology. For best tracking, purchase the SleepSpace Smart Bed which turns your phone into an accurate sleep tracker while charging it at night. For increased accuracy, you can integrate with various wearables like Apple Watch, Oura, Whoop, Garmin, Eight Mattress, and more.
SleepSpace does not share personally identifiable information with 3rd parties. We use de-identified aggregate data to improve the algorithm and publish in scientific journals for the betterment of sleep science.
We measure sleep based on tiny vibrations that are measured from your phone. If you place your phone on a surface that vibrates, such as a table with a fan on it, then you may have an inaccurate reading. Make sure you place your smartphone on a table that is not impacted by mechanical vibrations.
For more accurate tracking, try the SleepSpace Smart Bed or integrate SleepSpace with a wearable. See compatible devices
When you start your sleep session, you can adjust the noise using the buttons on the side of your phone to play a sound mask at the volume that is just right for you. Additionally, you can connect your device to a bluetooth speaker for a more immersive mask that is better at blocking out noise pollution.
SleepSpace can automatically change your bedroom environment the right hue and brightness based on your unique circadian rhythm. To do this, purchase a LIFX smart bulb here.
